About the bean:
Robusta Kaapi Royale is prepared from Robusta Parchment AB coffee of Mysore, Coorg, Malabar, Wayanad, Shevaroys, Pulneys and Bababudan regions. The standard Indian Parchment Kaapi Royale coffee is a Screen 17. This special grade of coffee is clean garbled and is medium to well polished. Beans appear to be bold, round with pointed ends and grey to bluish grey in colour.

India is a bird-friendly country and the coffee is grown under natural shade, which makes for a bolder, more uniform bean than coffee grown under open conditions.

It does not contain Peaberry brokens or any extraneous matter. It is also free from defectives including greens, bleached and spongy beans, unwashed bean, browns, blacks, insect damaged beans and pulper cuts.

In the cup, the coffee is full bodied, soft, smooth and mellow, more indicative of arabicas than robustas.

Roasting requirements: Robustas need a minimum of Full City ++ meaning the coffee has audibly reached 2nd crack. This coffee needs a lot of rest after roasting, as much as four days and more.
