Widely recognized around the world.
Why the cone shape? The cone-shaped paper filter adds depth to the coffee layer, so that the water flows to the centre, expanding the amount of time the water is in contact with the coffee grounds.

Bodum Pour Over coffee maker with permanent filter
The pour over promises excellent, rich taste and a robust aroma while maintaining the natural oils of the ground coffee. For the perfect cup of coffee, simply fill the cone-shaped filter with freshly ground coffee and pour a small amount of heated water over the grounds until thoroughly saturated.
Slowly pour the remaining hot water into the filter. Coffee passes from the filter to the mouth-blown, borosilicate glass carafe and, after 3-4 minutes, is ready to drink. Remove the filter from the carafe before serving and enjoy.
