About the bean

Established in 1969, FEDECOCAGUA is a cooperative organization with around 20,000 members, predominantly from indigenous groups across Guatemala. As the leading exporter, FEDECOCAGUA comprises over 150 individual cooperatives, providing everything from specialty microlots to certified main grades. The coop is able to support its community of growers with modern processing facilities and quality control in a remote region, although many are still able to process their own coffee thanks to the area’s abundant rivers. A distinct acidity and fruity flavour profile is the cherished character of Huehuetenango.

In the cup, we’re reminded again of why lots from here are our favourite. Reminiscent of Mexican coffees, this new batch of Huehue is distinguished by its lovely balance and a chocolate-nut dream team that is more bright and fruit-forward at a lighter roast, shifting to a smoky, darker, dense, and most pleasant result at a Full City+ roast. There’s no end to the experimentation we wanted to undertake here. It’s that good!

CARAMEL. BROWN SUGAR. ALMOND. SUBTLE PEACH FINISH. FLORAL AROMA. BRIGHT. JUICY MOUTHFEEL.
