Roasted - Kenya AB (Coffee of the Week)

About the bean

This Kenyan coffee is particularly nice and will move fast (be warned). We sampled this one as both an espresso and drip brew and, in both cases, the result was sweet but not overly so, very pleasant with a medium brightness and smooth body. The tasting notes say “tea like” but we disagree and, for us and depending on your preferences, that’s a plus. A great choice for plunge-press brews.

A Full City (medium-dark) roast is an ideal option for the balance, body, and flavour this Kenyan AB offers. Go higher to a Vienna roast (“Continental,” espresso) for amped up strength and density.

AB grade beans are a blend of A and B grades, sorted by size. A grade beans use a 6.8 mm screen, while B grade beans use a 6.2 mm screen. These sizes correspond to screen sizes 16 and 15.

Coffee from Kenya is celebrated for taking hand-harvested cherries through a meticulous wet-processing method to achieve the distinctive flavour profile Kenyan offerings are known for.

SWEET ORANGE. VIBRANT ACIDITY. TEA LIKE.
