Roasted - Ugandan Bugisu

| /

About the bean

Bugisu is the most renowned of the Ugandan arabicas. Grown in and around Mbale on the slopes of the Elgon Mountain range, this coffee compares very favourably with other East African high-grown offerings. Named after the Bugisu tribe who farm these slopes. Donkeys are used to transport coffee from here as the terrain is difficult and steep, particularly in wet months when dirt tracks are washed away. A bold bean with a uniform, bright green appearance.

What to expect

A good choice! Mild and pleasant with a typical washed African texture and a hint of liquorice. A rich and creamy body.
