Unroasted - Colombian Washed Excelso (Coffee of the Week)

About the bean

This Excelso Washed arrives as a perfect expression of Colombian terroir: bright and clear, vivid without shouting. The highlands of Huila’s volcanic soils, cool nights, and native shade trees slow cherry ripening and concentrate sugars, giving the washed Excelso its characteristic citric lift, black-tea clarity, and layered stone-fruit notes, rather than heavy sweetness or aggressive acidity. The CADEFIHUILA cooperative’s long-standing, shade-grown, carefully sorted production (EP grade) preserves Huila’s high-elevation purity instead of masking it. The result is luminous in the way good Colombian washed coffee often is: vibrant with fruit and acidity, yet quiet in body and aftertaste—balanced, refined, and unmistakably shaped by place rather than by the theatre of process.

Citrus. Black Tea. Apricot. Hints of Creme Caramel. Plum. Apple.
