About the bean

The Sidamo Natural Grade 3 is the result of a remarkable growing environment — high-high elevations and the superb conditions that foster the quality and consistency of specialty-calibre coffees. Cultivated by a network of smallholder cooperatives, whose members nurture their offerings in garden-style farms under shade, coffee cherries here enjoy a slow maturation for optimal sugar development.

The result is a full-bodied, classic cup with enticing notes of cocoa buoyed by a nutty sweetness and soft spice, complemented by moderate acidity and a creamy mouthfeel. The well-structured profile makes this one versatile for a range of roast styles. An excellent choice for those of you seeking a reliable and flavorful friend for blends. Ideal for French press, espresso (in particular), drip and plunge-press brews.

As this lot is a Grade 3, we underestimated how well the Sidamo would perform. The beans are even and our in-house tests delivered tasty cups. We stand impressed!
