About the bean

The Coope Tarrazú cooperative—a collective representing more than 3,000 members—has become our trusted source of exceptional Costa Rican coffee. Nestled in the renowned Tarrazú mountains, a globally celebrated region for high-altitude cultivation, their “Strictly Hard Bean” arabica thrives in this premium terroir. The bold and nuanced offerings from here have come to define Costa Rica’s coffee legacy.

Our new lot from Coope Tarrazú once again delivers exceptional quality, marked by a vibrant medium-high acidity, layered fruit-forward notes, complemented by a distinct brown sugar sweetness. Beans exhibit superior uniformity in size and density, with minimal defects, ensuring a reliable consistency for roasters. Go lighter for a bright sweetness. For more punch and density, tick to medium dark. We enjoy this one brewed as a drip, Americano, or French press but Tarrazú is flexible to taste. A real pleaser.
